A better viewing, not a marine survey

A professional marine surveyor uses specialist equipment and experience to assess structure, moisture, safety and seaworthiness. BoatReady UK does none of that. It helps you organise your own observations so that you ask better questions, decide whether to proceed and brief a surveyor or engineer properly.

Important — please read

BoatReady UK helps users organise their own observations when viewing a used boat. It is not a marine survey, mechanical inspection, valuation, legal check, finance check or guarantee that defects will be identified. Boat condition, safety and documentation should be assessed by appropriately qualified professionals before purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Is BoatReady UK a marine survey?

No. It is an organisational and decision-support tool. It records your own observations. A qualified marine surveyor or engineer should assess condition, safety and documentation before you buy.

What does an inspection cover?

Documents and ownership, hull and structure, engine and fuel, electrical and equipment, interior and covers, RIB tubes, trailer and sea trial. Sections that do not apply to the boat are hidden automatically.

Will it work without a mobile signal?

Answers are saved as you go, and unsaved answers are kept on your device if you lose signal. They synchronise when your connection returns.

Can I add photographs?

Yes. You can attach photographs and notes to any question. Photographs are stored privately and are only visible to you.
